Lisa + Todd | Common Man Inn and Spa Wedding

Although I knew Lisa and Todd prior to their engagement, I really enjoyed getting to know more about them since we first spoke about their wedding almost a year and a half ago. In our initial conversation, they shared their excitement over the perfect venue for their nuptials: the Common Man Inn and Spa.

Sitting about two hours north of Boston in Plymouth, New Hampshire, The Common Man Inn has a small country store in the main entryway and large cozy rooms made to feel like you've rented a log cabin. It is decorated with red and black plaid fabrics, wooden fixtures and plenty to woodland creatures. A few miles away on the Inn's property is the Inn's greenhouse, the ceremony location Lisa and I couldn't stop talking about.

Bursting with New Hampshire charm, everything about the location complemented Lisa and Todd and the vision they had to celebrate their love. We shared our excitement through emails, throughout their engagement session, and when I arrived the morning of their wedding, we were still gushing about the idea of portraits in the greenhouse.

About an hour before Lisa and Todd's first look, it began to downpour. With each passing minute our plans to photograph among the plant-filled greenhouse were slipping away. Then it was confirmed, it was too wet to trek out to the original ceremony location. The staff at the Common Man Inn and Spa were quick to think of a solution and we settled for back-up plan number three, the ceremony was going to take place on the dance floor. It was a moment when any bride and groom, who've been planning their big day for over a year, would be heartbroken. But not Lisa and Todd! They were ecstatic to be married and share this day with all of their favorite people. Their smiles never left their face... even when guest's cell phones went off during the ceremony signaling a tornado watch!

Lisa and Todd, what a day! I had the best time documenting such a special occasion in your lives, thank you for inviting me to be a part of it. Now let's plan a one year anniversary shoot in the greenhouse, okay!?
