After I graduated college in May 2008, I moved in with my parents in Northeastern Pennsylvania for a year. I was getting antsy for my next move, and after going on multiple interviews in NYC, in the matter of three days I made the decision to move to Boston. Two friends had called me, two days apart from each other, offering me a room in their apartment. A couple weeks later, I was driving a moving van to Boston. It took me a while to feel completely comfortable in here, but in the past four years I can say that I have totally fell in love with this city.
I was looking forward to Marathon Monday ever since the last year, it is such an amazing day that I can't possibly describe. Plus, many people have stepped forward these last couple days to explain just how wonderful Patriot's Day really is. The bombing that happened Monday really solidified the fact that I can't imagine myself anywhere else. My heart just aches for my city and everyone affected. Thankfully, my friends and I were a little over a mile away from the bombs and I am so touched by everyone who reached out to make sure I was safe. So much love! Last night around 9:30pm I got the urge to walk down to Boylston Street to take in everything and all I can say is that it's amazing, horrific, unbelievable and so incredibly eerie.
Boston, you're my home.
