In the months leading up to every wedding, I do my best to learn what is most important to each couple in order to create a timeline that best meets their needs on the big day. Hope, Mario and I had their wedding day planned down to the minute, making sure we had small cushions of time tucked within. We planned to walk as a group - me, bride, groom and wedding party - to the Public Garden, an iconic Boston landmark for portraits. But on August 11th of last year, Hope and Mario's wedding day, it rained from sun up to sun down.
I arrived to the Hyatt Regency Boston bummed about the weather, but when I saw Hope in the make-up chair smiling from ear to ear, I knew that neither her nor Mario cared that our plans went out the window. Ultimately, the plan was to be married, and the day had finally arrived.
We managed to sneak outside (under an overhang) for the first look, and since it was pouring, we essentially had the city block to ourselves, making it an even more intimate moment than anticipated.
Before the evening began, Hope and Mario took a moment just the two of them to read handwritten letters to one another. Besides sharing their thoughts with on another, they were able to take advantage of the moment, just the two of them, before spending the remainder of the day surrounded by 200+ of their closest friends and family.
Despite the not-so-ideal weather, Hope and Mario's wedding was perfect. Their love and respect for one another was a beautiful thing to witness, and they did not let a little rain stop them from throwing a killer party!
