Aloha.

We just arrived in Hawaii a little over a day ago so the images aren't too exciting yet, but here is are some things from the trip so far...

The flight from Chicago to Maui was 8.5 hours long - it was brutal. Also, we almost missed it. Our flight from Newark to Chicago was delayed and we sat on the tarmac for an hour. By the time we reached Chicago we had to run through the airport to the next terminal and weren't sure if our bags made it. Everything turned out perfectly in the end.

Turkey sandwich, chips, ginger ale, and a guessing game. Everyone on the flight had a chance to guess the midway point of the flight in Hawaiian time and win a CD by the famous Hawaiian Musician Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. For about 10 minutes I tried doing some math, which was a joke... so I guessed.

I also didn't win. (I was 7 minutes off!)

The lanai off of our room.

I got lei'd - then I lei'd the TV.

Scoping the resort out. Beach at sunset.

Early AM - breakfast then beach.

My mother and my empty chair.

Lunch - Ahi Tuna Wrap. Not shown - Mango Strawberry Margarita.

The beach. I fell asleep in the sun without sunscreen on. I am fried.

The maid lined up our shoe pile. What a sweetheart.

Reading on the lanai.

Dinner - Crab stuffed shrimp with almond rice and a blood orange sauce along with some cabernet.
