I had the pleasure of meeting Katie and Nathan through my good friend Michelle. Michelle and Katie work together at Boston Renaissance Charter School, and when Katie mentioned she was planning her wedding, Michelle graciously passed my name along. Let me tell you, I am so happy she did!
When I met with Katie and Nathan for the first time, and came to learn more about the two of them and their relationship, I was hoping I'd be the one who was chosen to document such a special time. Their wedding is not only special for the two of them, but for their daughters as well. I can't wait to meet Katie and Nathan's sweet 3-year-old twin girls. I've heard many stories about how excited they are that mommy and daddy are getting married, and in their shared excitement, they've been picking flowers and pinecones from the yard!
Over the past few years, Katie and Nathan have built a life together just outside of Boston. In the beginning of their relationship, before buying and renovating their house, Katie lived in a studio apartment in Boston's beautiful neighborhood of Beacon Hill. This past winter, with multiple feet of snow on the ground, Nathan popped the question right in front of her old place, so naturally we decided to celebrate their engagement by strolling through the gorgeous streets.
I can't wait to photograph Katie and Nathan's wedding at the Sandy Island Camp on Lake Winnipesaukee next month, and from what I hear, it's shaping up to be quite the weekend!
