For their wedding, the pair followed a time honored family tradition: just like Anna's mom and grandparents, they were married at Annisquam Village Church with the reception at Anna's family home overlooking Annisquam Harbor. Anna's grandfather, who spoke at the ceremony, was touched by the tradition, which has now been passed down through three generations.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, we took pictures outside the church before heading to the party. Anna, Patrick, their bridal party and I walked from the church to the house, and through a park overlooking the harbor for more pictures and to soak in the view.
Once we arrived back at the house the "Blue Moon" Band began to play and the newlyweds were greeted with love from all their guests. As the sun began to set over the water, Anna called for all the single ladies to gather under the first floor balcony so she could throw her bouquet, just as her grandmother had done years before.
The whole evening was an absolute blast. There was dancing, desserts and once it was dark enough, kids and adults alike had fun with sparklers. Anna and Patrick, I feel lucky to be the one chosen to document your wedding day, especially one full of tradition. Cheers to many more years!
