Sarah + Gareth | Backyard Wedding in Albany, NY

On Saturday, October 8th, I woke up early and made my way down to Albany, NY, for Sarah and Gareth's backyard celebration. You might remember Sarah and Gareth from earlier this year when I shared images from their Charles River Esplanade engagement session.

When I arrived at the home where Sarah grew up, friends and family were scattered about the property putting last minute touches together. The entire day was made up of details from people close to them and you could tell it was truly a labor of love. Sarah's mother did the floral arrangements and decor, her sister painted shoes for the groomsmen, made umbrellas for the ladies, made the cake and helped with decor. And her dad built the pavilion and turned a shipping container into a bar complete with a roof deck. Seriously, so much love and effort went into this wedding and it all paid off, it was such a stunning day!

Dinner was held in the pavilion, dancing was under the tent and the ceremony was down a steep hill from the house just to the left of the pond and under the willow trees. Between the willow trees was a homemade trellis. It was a gorgeous setting that simultaneously held incredible meaning, and it was an honor to photograph it.

From lighting flower lanterns, to dancing all night, to partaking in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, this night was truly an unforgettable one. I'm so happy Sarah and Gareth asked me to be a part of it. Congratulations!
