Cassie + Michael | Cameron Inn Estate Wedding

I can't believe the new year is less than two weeks away! 2016 flew by and it has been incredible. My clients have been absolutely wonderful - trusting me to capture one of the biggest days of their lives thus far. I feel so lucky I've been invited into the lives of so many amazing couples and I am looking forward to what 2017 will bring.

This past March my cousin Cassie and fiancé traveled to Boston for their engagement session, kicking off my 2016 season, and their wedding bookended my year. They were married on October 29th in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania at the beautiful Cameron Estate Inn. I could not have asked for a better way to close out this wedding season.

As the big day approached, I was full of excitement for my cousin and our family. But with the excitement, came sadness. Our family suffered the tragic and unexpected loss of my Uncle Tony, Cassie's father, in January. Michael, Cassie's now husband, had also lost a parent; his mother, years ago. Both parents were honored throughout the day in many meaningful ways. Among my favorite tributes was a small portrait of her father that Cassie had tied to her bouquet, and Michael's boutonnière adorned a portrait of his late mother.

The weather was unseasonably warm for late October, at 70 degrees, and the sun was shining through the multicolored autumn leaves. It could not have been more perfect. Anthony, Cassie's younger brother, escorted her down the aisle in an emotional processional, a moment that I am glad is captured forever. Cassie and Michael wrote their own heartfelt vows, and after much anticipation and years in the making, their union was sealed with a kiss.

DJ Will Bill started the party and introduced Mr. and Mrs. Mountz into their reception which was filled with loved ones cheering and clapping happily. Will Bill was also the DJ at Cassie's parent's wedding twenty-eight years earlier, which means that Bill and I had also met twenty-eight years ago! I was three when I was my Aunt Beth and Uncle Tony's flower girl. It's crazy how life works out sometimes. Bill led the guests in song and dance, and the dance floor was full for the remainder of the evening.

Cassie and Michael, I'm so thrilled I was who you chose to document you wedding day. I look forward to making more memories as we all grow older, together. Congratulations, I love you both!
